  • Using your words to advocate for the needs of yourself and others
  • Boundary-setting skills and strategies
  • Safety assessment strategies – including identifying safe adults and navigating unfamiliar situations

Bystander Intervention

When: Sunday, October 25, 2020 – 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

2 Hour workshop for people of all genders 15 years old and up.
In this election year, in the middle of a pandemic, and during a racial awakening, there has been an increase of hateful speech and hateful behavior.  There are things we can do to interrupt verbal and physical hate.  Discuss what gets in the way of taking action and learn skills that address those concerns so that you can assess a situation and decide on a response while keeping yourself safe.

This workshop will cover:
  • Situational awareness and risk assessment
  • Understanding the role of bystanders in interrupting oppression
  • Overcoming Barriers to intervening
  • De-escalation tools
  • Strategies for intervening
After this class, you will feel stronger and more confident in everyday situations.
Because of the pandemic, we will be offering this workshop online via Zoom and attendees may pay on a sliding scale.
$75 – Pay it forward (I’m doing ok and want to help someone else take this class)
