On Tuesday, March 6th at 7:30 at the Casa de Luz Auditorium, located at 1701 Toomey Road, 78704, Sun Dragon will be giving a black belt demonstration for the Japan-America Society of Greater Austin. A smaller demonstration featuring all belt ranks will also be happening. All adult classes are cancelled that evening, but everyone is invited to come to the demonstration. All ranks are encouraged to come and watch or help with the audience participation portion, but it is not required. Below is what the Japan-America website has to say about our demonstration-

About Demonstration and Workshop:

Black belts from Sun Dragon Martial Arts and Self Defense will present a demonstration of the traditional Japanese Seido Karate style. MLK Day of Service and Holiday

Sun Dragon will be closed on Monday, January 16 for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. This is a great opportunity to volunteer some of your time for the National Day of Service. Find volunteer opportunities at www.serve.gov or www.mlkday.gov. Sun Dragon classes will resume on Tuesday, January 17.

Kagami Biraki

Happy New Year Sun Dragons! Please join us on Saturday, January 7 for our annual new year celebration, Kagami Biraki. This is a great time to get to know the other students and families, and set your training goals for the year. We will have an all-school class at 10am followed by a potluck brunch at 11am. All students are invited to join the class, although our youngest students may want to watch since it will be a much faster pace than they’re used to. All family members are welcome at the potluck! If you are joining the class, please wear your full gi, white pants only, and bring a change of clothing for the potluck. All regular classes will be cancelled on Saturday.
